A locally owned, one-person service shop dedicated to keeping your sewing machines running smoothly. I'm Blair—a certified Sewing Machine Technician—and I specialize in honest diagnostics, quality repairs, and preventative maintenance that helps your machine last longer. I use highest-quality oils and professional-grade tools, and I treat every machine with the same careful attention I'd give my own—clean, precise, and handled with real respect for your investment. We provide deep cleaning, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for domestic and light industrial machines, from refreshing tune-ups to those “help, it suddenly won't sew!” moments. It depends on the type of machine. Full service is on sale right now: $109 for a mechanical machine (regularly $129), $129 for a computerized machine (regularly $149), and $159 for a serger (regularly $179). Every 6 to 12 months. Go with 6 months if your machine sees heavy use, and treat 12 months as the minimum to keep it in optimal working condition.
Absolutely—vintage machines are one of my favourite things to work on. The only time I have to turn one away is when the motor is completely shot.
It depends on the machine and the severity of the problem. Some issues are a quick fix—pop the bobbin case out and you're done. Others need the machine taken completely apart. I'll give you a realistic timeline when I diagnose it.
These are two of the most common problems I see, and in most cases they're very fixable. Skipped stitches and thread nesting underneath usually trace back to timing, tension, a worn or wrong-size needle, or lint packed into the bobbin area—not a machine that's beyond saving. A diagnostic will confirm what's actually going on before any work starts.
Lint removal, oiling, adjustments, stitch testing, recalibration, and replacement of worn parts as needed. I test every machine before it goes back to you to make sure it's running efficiently.
Yes. Pickup is $15 and delivery is $15, with an additional $0.70/km for pickups outside Trenton. Handy if your schedule is tight or your machine is heavy.
Always. If a repair or replacement part is needed, I contact you first with what I found and what it will cost. Nothing moves forward without your go-ahead, and the diagnostic fee is waived if you proceed with the repair.
